A new Aman luxury resort is planned to open just around the point from the Westin Conchal overlooking a secluded stretch of beach and the vastness of the open Pacific.
The chain of resorts under the Aman branding are renowned for their luxurious settings and exemplary dedication to service. Currently there are 33 destinations with new openings in New York and here in Costa Rica scheduled to open by Christmas 2020. aman resorts are frequented by return clients aka Aman Junkies, and we suspect this resort will be high on their list of must see destinations.
Aman Costa Rica will be located at Punta Sabana in Guanacaste on Costa Rica's northwestern coast, known for its reliably drier climate and ample sunshine. Punta Sabana or Savannah Point is about an hour drive from Liberia Airport (LIR), in a as yet unspoiled part of the coast, on the point just south of Playa Conchal.
The plan for the new Aman Costa Rica consists of a main Lodge with an ocean view infinity pool, restaurant, wine room, and treehouse bar. It also features a Japanese Restaurant, the Aman Spa, ocean view yoga pavilions, tennis courts, a Beach Club, and a Kids' Club, for resort guests and villa owners.
There will be a total of 40 Aman Villas sold as residences, with options to rent them out, similar to Aman's Amapulo. These include 2 bedroom up to 5 bedroom villas, perfect for extended family stays. The plans include a total of 30 free-standing pavilions, although not all will be open initially.
The resort's main restaurant, Nama (meaning “raw”), will present Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi and sashimi, with additional dishes inspired by the freshest local ingredients. The setting will be open air, under the stars, although in case of inclement weather or for those preferring a roof, there are covered seating options as well.
The Aman Costa Rica Spa will be one of the key features covering over 21,550 square feet and entered through a tunnel carved out of manganese rock. There will be 9 treatment rooms including couple's suites, there will be a watsu water therapy suite, two hammam rooms, a yoga studio, and personal training fitness suite that can be used for private pilates or yoga classes.
Guests may also enjoy the spa pool, 230 feet in length, the meditation platform, and a separate 3230 square feet Fitness Center in the forest.
