We now know why major news outlets and elected members of the Democrat Party were so upset by the news that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R) had granted Fox News Anchor Tucker Carlson and his producers exclusive access to 41,000 hours of surveillance footage from the Jan 6th protests.
Because they appear to have not told the truth about the event.
The never-before-seen footage from the protests at the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021 prove that the protests were peaceful and one of the most notorious protestors from that day was escorted by Capitol Police officers throughout his entire time that he was in the Capitol Building, caused no damage and was calm and respectful of the police.
The footage aired on Monday as part of the beginning of Tucker Carlson's exclusive investigation into the events of that day, after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) decided to hand over all footage to Carlson's Producers on Fox News.
In the footage, Jacob Chansely (aka Jake Angeli, born Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley), and has since come to be known as "The QAnon Shaman", was labeled by the media and the J6 Investigation Committee, as the face of the protest based on his extravagant choice of wardrobe for the day. Despite at one point being surrounded by at least nine officers, no officer made any attempt to subdue him or direct him out of the building.
"The tapes show the Capitol police never stopped Jacob Chansley. They helped him. They acted as his tour guides," Carlson stated. At one point in footage Chansley led a prayer in the Senate chamber thanking God for the Capitol Police officers and praising their efforts that day.
Mr. Chansley had stated in interviews after the protest that he genuinely did not think that he or any of the other protesters were committing a crime because the officers had allowed them into the building and were accomanying them throughout the day.
"The one very serious regret that I have [is] believing that when we were waved in by police officers that it was acceptable," said Chansley.
Prosecutors demanded that he be given the maximum allowable sentence of 51 months in prison. The judge admitted that Chansley did not commit any violence, he still ultimately gave Chansley a steep sentence of 41 months allegedly because he came to symbolize the protests.
U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth in his sentencing stated "What you did was terrible. You made yourself the epitome of the riot,"
Other significant points were raised during the Monday night broadcast. One being that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick who Democrats claim was murdered by Maga protestors that day was seen continuing to direct protestors in the building long after the point he was said to have been killed.
Another point where Democrats and media mocked Republican Senator Josh Hawley by showing edited footage claiming he was seen running from the protestors. The clip aired during the broadcast showed staff and officials being evacuated from the building by Capitol Police with Senator Hawley being one of the last to exit.
Carlson also pointed out Maga Protestor Ray Epps as being an instigator in directing people towards the building then urging the crowd to break through the barriers. Ray Epps was never arrested or charged with a crime despite being vocal about his intentions in numerous published news clips.
For an in depth report on Ray Epps and other key people who have never been charged for their role in the January 6th protests check out the in depth Revolver article. .
We expect to see much more as the week progresses and Tucker is expected to release more unseen footage.
